FTE: 0.9, Shift: Day, Schedule: Clinic Hours Additional information about the Mary Bridge Children's Eye Center - Tacoma Clinic can be found here: https://www.marybridge.org/locations/mary-bridge-childrens-eye-center-tacoma/ Position Summary The Ophthalmic Photographer/Technician is responsible for performing high‑quality diagnostic imaging, clinical testing, and technical procedures to support Ophthalmology and Dermatology providers. This role also assists physicians during patient encounters, delivers patient education related to tests and treatments, and manages scheduling for outpatient procedures.

Requirements

  • Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
  • Certification must be maintained through continuing education
  • Must obtain MA-R within 60 days of hire
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • You will ensure completion of all necessary consents and documents for the medical record, utilizing hospital-approved abbreviations and following hospital charting guidelines
  • You will participate in all phases of education, maintenance of records, upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills
  • You will schedule procedures for Ophthalmology and Dermatology
  • You will gather initial health status of patients including vital signs and documents per policy
