The Certified Ophthalmic Assistant works hand in hand with the Ophthalmologists and prepares the patient for examination. Applies advanced knowledge to basic principles of Ophthalmic patient care to assist and support their assigned Physician and Team with complicated procedures in addition to routine procedures successfully. Responsible to carry out patient care as appropriate to expanded knowledge base. Performs various skills associated with the Ophthalmologist's and Clinic's needs and within their scope of practice. Skilled at tonometry, keratometry, BAT, PAM, VFD, CFD, Pachymetry, OPD, OCT, IOL Master. Knowledge of retinoscopy, A-Scan, contact lenses, fundus photography & external photos. Performs other duties as needed.
