Ophthalmologist Job Quick Facts: Profession: Physician Specialty: Ophthalmologist Job Type: Locum Tenens Facility Location: Columbia, South Carolina Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Period: June 1, 2026 - Ongoing (Potential for a long -term contract) Coverage Type: Clinical+Call Clinical Schedule: Mon -Fri 8am to 4:30pm Call Schedule: Call will be at least one week a month to include the weekend. Rotating call coverage among the providers in the facility. Call Type: Phone Call Response Time: On -call providers must be available within 15 minutes by phone and onsite within 60 minutes. Phone Consults: Yes Rounding included: Yes % of Practice: 95% Direct Patient Care, 5% Administrative Duties Procedures: Comprehensive clinical ophthalmology procedures, including the full range of oculoplastic and glaucoma services. EMR: CPRS Hospital Privileges required: Yes Temporary Privileges available: Yes Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered
Requirements
- Active unrestricted license in any State or U.S. territory
- Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO)
- BLS
- ACLS
- DEA License
- NPI
- NPDB Report
- Physicians who have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
