About The Position

A physician-led team in California's Central Valley is adding a fellowship-trained Corneal specialist to its Ophthalmology group. You'll practice a 60/40 cornea-to-general ophthalmology case mix in a modern facility with strong support and room to grow into leadership. This is a rare combination of clinical focus, long-term financial security, and one of the most comprehensive compensation and benefits structures available in the specialty.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with fellowship training in cornea
  • Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology
  • Eligibility for a California medical license
  • Strong interest in long-term, collaborative practice

Responsibilities

  • Perform corneal procedures across approximately 60% of your caseload, with 40% dedicated to general ophthalmology
  • Work a balanced schedule that includes one day off every other week
  • Practice in a well-equipped, modern facility alongside a collaborative team with diverse clinical skills
  • Develop and expand your clinical expertise with opportunities to move into leadership over time

Benefits

  • Starting salary of $404,000 with guaranteed annual increases — year two expected above $440K, with long-term potential near $500K
  • $220,000 sign-on bonus (forgiven over 7 years)
  • Home loan program covering 10% of your purchase price up to $250K with interest covered for 10 years
  • True pension plan — earn up to 50% of your average income paid in retirement (2% per year for 20 years, 1% per year thereafter, 5-year vesting)
  • Employer retirement contribution of ~$26,000/yr plus 401(k) salary deferral plan
  • PSLF-eligible — Public Service Loan Forgiveness qualification
  • Annual incentives of $8K–$12K plus shareholder bonus after 3 years ($12K–$15K/yr, max $20K)
  • 4–6 weeks PTO depending on tenure (includes holidays), plus additional unit-based PTO from call back
  • $5,000 CME allowance and one week CME time annually
