This is a benefited, part time position, with 8-hour day shifts anytime between 7am and 5pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Scripps Clinic Encinitas. May float to other clinic sites as needed. Requirements

  • Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology.
  • Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred.
  • Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
  • Ability to scribe.
  • Experience using Epic.

Responsibilities

  • Performing patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.
  • Educates patients and documents patient interactions.
  • Practices infection control.
  • Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.
  • Managing technician schedules, supply and medication ordering and inventory
