We have opportunities for Ophthalmic Technicians based in our Hiawatha clinic. We are looking for motivated candidates to join our team. Successful candidates will have a desire to learn in a fast-paced setting and the ability to positively interact and help patients while providing patient education and instructions. Interested applicants should be willing to work both independently and as a member of a team, provide excellent patient care, and perform patient workups in a precise and efficient manner.

Requirements

Medical office experience required.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Experience providing excellent patient care.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and communicate concerns regarding the results of diagnostic testing.
Experience in the field is required.

Nice To Haves

Ophthalmic testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Document patient’s medical and ocular histories in electronic medical record.
Perform patient workups.
Complete diagnostic testing, such as retinoscopy, manual refraction, applanation A-scan, keratometry, tonometry, OCT’s and visual fields.
Provide patient education according to physician instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel to other offices as needed.
