You will perform preliminary tests and gather essential information in accordance with physician orders and the specifics of each patient visit. A high school diploma is required, along with the commitment to obtain your Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification within two years. Proficiency in medical software and strong typing skills are crucial for accurately documenting health histories, testing results, and prescriptions. You must possess an understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy of the eye, as well as familiarity with examination equipment and its maintenance. Effective communication with physicians and patients is vital for ensuring satisfaction and safety. Additionally, the ability to build positive relationships with staff, coupled with a proactive and adaptable attitude, will enable you to excel in our fast-paced medical environment while adhering to HIPAA compliance regulations. Previous experience in a medical office is advantageous and will further enhance your success in this role. Work Conditions: Eye Clinic of Wisconsin has eight locations; while staff will be assigned to a "home" location; travel to satellites is a requirement of the position. Hours of work will be dependent on the needs of the Clinic. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting (30 pounds), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs is required.
