Ophthalmic Technician - Employee Health Center - Sorrento Valley This is a full time position, generally 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday located at the Employee Health Center in Sorrento Valley. Requirements

  • Current BLS card through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit.

Nice To Haves

  • Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred.
  • Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
  • Prefer minimum one year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.
  • Educates patients and documents patient interactions.
  • Practices infection control.
  • Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.
