About The Position

Ophthalmic Technician Make a difference in patients’ vision—while building a career in eye care. Position Summary As an Ophthalmic Technician , you’ll be a vital part of the patient care team—supporting optometrists and ophthalmologists while helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit. This is a hands-on role with a mix of patient interaction, clinical learning, and teamwork in a fast-paced, supportive clinic environment. No prior ophthalmic experience? No problem. Requirements

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Interest in healthcare and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well in a team-based clinical environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent talking, hearing, grasping, and stooping
  • Light lifting (up to 15 lbs. regularly)
  • Visual acuity to ensure accuracy and quality of work

Nice To Haves

  • Prior ophthalmic or medical experience is helpful—but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for eye exams by explaining testing procedures in a clear, reassuring way
  • Perform preliminary diagnostic testing and additional tests as requested by providers
  • Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists during patient exams and procedures
  • Help manage patient flow and scheduling, communicating delays when needed
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including cleaning instruments and tracking supplies
  • Create a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and staff
  • Support the care team with additional responsibilities as needed
