About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our patient-focused eye care team. In this role, you'll work closely with optometrists and staff to deliver an exceptional experience from pre-testing through to patient education. If you are passionate about healthcare, enjoy working with people, and are eager to grow in the field of optometry, we'd love to hear from you.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an optometric or healthcare setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) is an asset
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for their eye exams
- Perform pre-testing procedures (autorefraction, tonometry, retinal imaging, etc.)
- Record patient medical history and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Assist optometrists during examinations as needed
- Educate patients on contact lens care and handling
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and equipment
- Support administrative or optical functions as required
