About The Position

This person will be required to assist the ophthalmologists and optometrists in their patients' eye examinations. This includes performing various vision tests, collecting medical data, monitoring and maintaining patient flow, scribing, and assisting physicians with various procedures; as well as assisting with various administrative duties within the Ophthalmology Department.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school graduate or GED, or equivalent education and experience
  • Maintains CPR certification
  • Certified as an ophthalmic technician through the Joint Commission on Allied personnel in Ophthalmology
  • At least 3 years experience working in ophthalmology
  • One year as an ophthalmic medical technician in ophthalmology

Nice To Haves

  • COT certified
  • CPR certified
  • 2-year college degree, preferably some formal training in ophthalmic technology
