About The Position

The Ophthalmic Technician Specialist works up patients for physicians that includes taking medical history, performing initial examination and completing diagnostic testing.

Requirements

  • Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification at least at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) level.
  • CPR
  • Must obtain Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) within 18 months of hire.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing initial ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing.
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be willing to work at all office locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of experience in academic medical environment preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or related field.
