About The Position
The Ophthalmic Technician Specialist works up patients for physicians that includes taking medical history, performing initial examination and completing diagnostic testing.
Requirements
- Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification at least at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) level.
- CPR
- Must obtain Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Technologist (COMT) within 18 months of hire.
- Two (2) years of experience performing initial ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing.
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be willing to work at all office locations.
Nice To Haves
- Four (4) years of experience in academic medical environment preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Science or related field.
