About The Position

Our dedicated Eye Care team of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists and Nurses, along with Certified Technicians and Assistants, provide next level diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the eye using state of the art technology. Our providers specialize in various ophthalmology and optometry subspecialties including Cornea and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Neuro Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and Vitreoretinal Disease. Our all-inclusive approach ensures our present and future patients receive the best outcome possible. What you will do as an Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist: Performs Ophthalmic Imaging and Ocular Ultrasound within the Department of Ophthalmology Skilled in performing: Single Frame and Sequential Stereo Fundus Photography, Rapid Sequence and Video Fluorescein and Indocyanine Green Angiography, Slit Lamp Biomicrography and Goniophotography, External and Motility Photography, Videography, Scanning Laser Ophthalmography, Autofluorescence Imaging, Confocal and Specular Microscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), both anterior and posterior, Patient screening for pupil assessment, gross external examination and eye drop instillation & Ocular Ultrasound, including Diagnostic and Immersion A-scans, Posterior B-scans and Ultrasonic Biomicroscopy (UBM) Operates and supports photographic cameras, imaging equipment and devices Uses imaging programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and proprietary software related to advanced, individualized imaging equipment Assists in maintaining and cleaning cameras and equipment to ensure efficient performance Effectively communicates with Imaging Services Manager for support and operation of digital systems and review station computers. Maintains current certifications, while certifying for new study protocols as they are implemented Applies sophisticated photography techniques to detail appropriate anatomy and disease processes Acquires departmental images depicting research and clinic activity for use in brochures, publications and grant applications Prepares and produces publication quality print images based upon strict specifications

Requirements

  • Formal education in Biomedical Photography or equivalent work experience & education in the natural sciences
  • BLS certification or certification within orientation period
  • Two or more years of ophthalmic imaging experience; appropriate training and experience in other imaging fields or ophthalmic areas may be substituted
  • Professional membership in OPS related publishing software, office equipment

Responsibilities
