About The Position

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Palm Beach Gardens is currently seeking a full time Ophthalmic Imager 2. The Ophthalmic Imager 2 prepares proper documentation in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards. Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below. Color fundus photography, Fluorescein angiography, ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography, Optical coherence tomography, Automated & manual perimetry, Slit lamp photography, Gonio photography, External photography, Ocular motility photography. Provides patient-centric care. Adheres to University of Miami policies, standards, and values. Compliance with regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Follows best practices of patient safety, hand hygiene, and infection control. Completes the University of Miami mandatory in-services and online training. Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned. Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and thoroughness. Meets daily productivity goals. Performs organization duties as designated. Ensures all equipment is calibrated, and instrumentation is in proper working order. Organize and stock rooms for daily clinical activities. Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary. Works evenings and weekends as needed. Participates in assigned clinical research and maintains required certifications. Maintains OPS certifications. Assists with training of visiting imaging technicians, residents, fellows, and faculty members. Works with providers, residents, and fellows to provide training and customization of imaging software including hanging protocols. Acts as preceptor for imaging team members. Functions as super user for imaging technology implementations and training initiatives. Supports residents, fellows, and faculty members with imaging presentations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Certified Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT-C) and/or Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of ocular anatomy, function, and motility.
  • Knowledgeable in computer software for all imaging modalities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates a proficient understanding of refractometry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Humphrey Visual Fields.
  • Experience with Virtual Reality (VR) Visual Fields.
  • Experience with Corneal Topography.
