The Ophthalmic Echographer III performs basic biometry and standardized echography exams under the guidance of senior staff, contributing both patient-facing care and technical expertise. In this highly specialized and long-standing career path, the role includes performing ophthalmic ultrasound imaging, assisting with pre-surgical evaluations, interpreting results and preparing documentation for physicians. This position also supports equipment maintenance, accurate imaging protocols and flexible scheduling for surgical needs. A caregiver in this role will works 8:00am to 4:30pm, or 7:30am to 5:30pm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Four years' experience as one of the following may substitute for the Bachelor's Degree: Full time Ophthalmic Echographer, RDMS certification in another specialty, RN (license not required) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (must have active certification at time of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Ophthalmic Ultrasound Biometrist (ROUB) eligible or certified preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic biometry examinations including accurate keratometry, IOL Master, immersion A-scans, topography and IOL calculations.
  • Perform basic standardized echography examinations including diagnostic A-scan and B-scan.
  • Accurately differentiates basic ocular pathology.
  • Write basic examination reports and reconcile ultrasound examinations with complete interpretations.
  • Maintain equipment and comply with all safety precautions.
