Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Patient care environment 1-3 years
Ability to communicate written and oral with physicians, other clinical Associates, and patients and their families both verbally and in writing.
Interpersonal skills with ability to successfully interact with physicians, other Associates and patients and their families.
Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
Knowledge of medical office practices and medical terminology.
High attention to detail demonstrated in clinical and contractual settings.
Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to maintain control of own work flow by prioritizing projects.

Responsibilities

Performs patient screening examinations.
Perform preliminary exams such as, visual acuity, pupil tests, retinoscopy and refractometry, etc.
Provides Orthoptic treatment.
Prepares exam rooms and position patient for procedures.
Interview patients and document ocular and medical histories.
Performs routine tests using ophthalmic instruments that provide diagnostic information.
Communicates with patients regarding follow-up care, tests and procedures.
Maintains and cleans all equipment being used.
Reports working condition of equipment if out of service.
Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
