Position Summary An Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice. Work Locations: Balcones Work Hours: Monday to Friday NO WEEKENDS

Requirements

One-year experience in a customer facing position preferred
Medical related experience preferred
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Proficient in use of internet
High school diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
Other diagnostic testing such as: Visual Aids, OCT, Corneal topography, etc...
Providing phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician.
Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
Assists with opening and closing duties.
Other duties as assigned.
