Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current BLS through American Heart Association
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant or Optometric/Ophthalmic Assistant experience if not a graduate of an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program OR 6 months experience and be a graduate of an approved Medical/Ophthalmic Assistant program
• CRT experience
• Proven ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population

Nice To Haves

• Certified as Ophthalmic Assistant
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician
• 2+ years and 6 months of experience in ophthalmology
• 2+ years of work experience under an ophthalmologist
• Proven ability to Scribe, use portable tonopen, Goldman VF, Fundus photography, Fluroscein Anniogram, Immersion IOL
• Proven ability to use NCT, Autorefractor, computer related equipment, Lensometer and able to perform K-readings
• Proven windows based computer skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients seen in the Optometry or Ophthalmology departments.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
