The position involves operating various types of cranes and heavy equipment for bridge and infrastructure work. The Crane Operator is responsible for safely lifting and moving materials using lattice boom and rough terrain cranes, performing daily inspections and preventative maintenance, and understanding operator's manuals and load charts. The Heavy Equipment Operator will operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and bulldozers to excavate, move, and grade earth, as well as erect structures and pour concrete.

  • Safely operate lattice boom and rough terrain cranes to lift and move materials.
  • Perform daily inspection and preventative maintenance on cranes.
  • Read and understand operator's manuals and load charts.
  • Plan and assist with critical lifts.
  • Control crane movement in response to hand signals or radio commands.
  • Safely operate excavators, loaders, skid steers, and bulldozers.
  • Excavate, move, and grade earth for bridge and infrastructure work.
  • Erect structures and pour concrete as needed.
  • Experience operating cranes and heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand operator's manuals and load charts.
  • Strong communication skills for responding to hand signals and radio commands.
  • Certification as a crane operator.
  • Experience with bridge and infrastructure projects.
  • Additional certifications for operating heavy equipment.
