About The Position

Production Operator Huntsman is seeking Production Operators supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood, Illinois. This position will report to the Production Supervisor. Job Scope The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating manufacturing equipment and supporting day-to-day production activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with Huntsman’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to meet production and quality targets in a chemical manufacturing environment. In summary, as the Production Operator, you will: Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment, including mixing/blending, granulation, bagging, and extrusion equipment. Verify that raw materials and finished goods meet batch documentation, packaging, and labeling requirements. Store and transfer materials and supplies manually or using powered industrial equipment, including seated and standing forklifts. Perform quality control tests and make necessary process adjustments based on results. Accurately complete production paperwork and document required operational data. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas and equipment. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Work collaboratively with supervisors, process engineers, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve production and quality goals. Participate in and complete all company-required training programs. Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety standards and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the chemical industry.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize errors, deviations, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational discipline.
  • Willingness to learn and follow detailed procedures and instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating extrusion equipment.
  • Forklift experience (seated and/or standing); training will be provided.
  • Prior experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
