SUMMARY: Operates the Olefins facility to convert propane feedstock into ethylene to provide conforming feedstock for the manufacture of vinyl chloride monomer. Operates equipment for the separation, purification, storage and shipping of co-products (fuel gas, propylene, mixed C4 hydrocarbons, aromatic gasoline, fuel oil and steam).
Requirements
- 2 year degree.
- 3-5 years of industrial experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitors equipment and makes adjustments as necessary to control the production process.
- Monitors and reacts to all process analyzers and control instruments.
- Maintains maximum plant feed rate as scheduled and allowed by process conditions.
- Calculates production report.
- Maintains radio communications with outside operators.
- Maintains and operates: propane feed pumps, propane vaporizers, quench water system, steam generation system, propane cracking furnaces, fuel gas blender, flare system, fuel storage and transfer.
- Maintains and operates: feedgas compressor, injection oil unloading, ethylene compressor, propylene compressor, propylene storage.
- Maintains and operates distillation columns.
- Maintains and operates dryers.
- Maintains and operates acetylene reactors.
