About The Position

The Operator at AMVAC’s Marsing, Idaho facility will formulate and package chemicals. The Operator will accurately weigh and mix liquids and powders and is responsible for filling, sealing, and palletizing the products for shipment. Formulates and packages dry and liquid chemicals manually by performing the following duties:

Requirements

  • Experience operating a Forklift or similar truck or must pass in-house for truck certification
  • Knowledge of general policies and procedures, including safety and security measures, and the ability to apply that knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the proper operation, storage, and routine maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Ability to do general math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to understand the consequences of various problem situations and to refer such situations to the appropriate lead or manager.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrams, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team
  • Ability to work in high demand, fast paced environments
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is desired
  • Must have good English skills
  • At least 6 months in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of computer email

Responsibilities

  • Weighs out quantities of powdered or liquid dyes and chemicals following a formulation sheet.
  • Maintains and evaluates quality control of production protocols. Ensures that all products meet specifications while in process and prior to packaging and shipping.
  • Observes operation of machine to detect malfunctions and makes minor adjustments or repairs during production usage.
  • Adjusts equipment and corrects labels, lot numbers, and containers per product specifications. Correctly and neatly fill, seal and palletize during pack out.
  • Monitors and adjusts process equipment to meet quality check specifications. Records vital meter readings and process check on the batch sheet.
  • Wear assigned personal protective equipment. Maintains assigned equipment in good working order.
  • Follows all safety procedures and is an active member in the facility safety and health management program. Reports any process safety and quality issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Operates fork truck to assist in unloading and moving materials.
  • Maintains a clean working environment free from spills, drips and miscellaneous waste or debris.
  • Perform other assignments as directed by management.
