About The Position

The Operator answers prompts from the phone tree for external hospitals and facilities with critical results and connects callers with a nurse as soon as possible. Any other caller not representing an external hospital or facility is redirected back to the main queue. The role emphasizes prompt and excellent customer service delivery.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent customer service delivery skills and experience
  • Excellent judgment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, diverse environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team

Responsibilities

  • Answer the prompt/queue in a courteous, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Quickly identify the caller and reason for calling.
  • Connect external hospitals/facilities reporting critical results with a nurse following established protocols, including calling the nurse hunt group, overhead paging, and escalating to the Team Lead or Supervisor if needed.
  • Redirect callers who selected the wrong prompt to the main queue.
