About The Position

This person directs quick and efficient changeovers both on machines and new product changes. Programs, sets up, troubleshoots, and maintains all packaging equipment. Directs packers on how to pack the product most efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Review all pertinent SOP’s and is a QI (Qualified Individual) for the position
• Sets up the machine before the shift begins.
• Changes packaging materials as needed; ensures packaging materials are correct and positioned correctly in the machine.
• Communicates all necessary information to the oncoming shift machine operators.
• Monitorsand adjusts weight control of packaged units.
• Records all lot information asrequired.
• Maintainsstandard production quantities/rates for each product.
• Ensures codes areaccurateand in the correct format.
• Maintainscompany standards for cleanliness, food safety, and productivity in the packaging area.
• Replenishes packaging supplies such as film, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels.
• Observesmachine operation to detect malfunctions; makes minor adjustments/repairs; communicates mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
• Ensures compliancetoquality, food safety, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
• Strives to be a safetysolutionsleader by maintaining the 200% for safety mindset. Participates in engagement activities, completes required safety training, and aids in identifying hazards utilizing BBS and Safety Monitor programs.
• Participatesin activities related to Marzetti Operational Excellence.
