About The Position

The Operator Technician role is a member of the operations team and will perform a variety of mechanical and administrative duties. The role will primarily perform electrical and mechanical assembly of company products. Responsibilities include selecting and maintaining setups, using jigs, fixtures, and tooling, assembling and wiring sub-assemblies, and assembling products including light electrical and mechanical components and soldering. The technician will also perform full functional tests and calibration on products, complete required paperwork, label and properly handle nonconforming products, submit engineering change requests as required, and participate in process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Two-year technical degree (preferred) with 5+ years mechanical assembly/related experience.
  • Soldering/de-soldering experience.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, flow and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to operate electric and mechanical hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, open end wrenches, nut drivers, socket wrenches, wire crimping).
  • Ability to operate bench top test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Good working knowledge of PC computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Tube bending from 1/8 to 1/2” tubing.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of analog and digital circuitry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to component level.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
