About The Position

As an Operator in the Production department at dsm-firmenich, you will be responsible for overseeing the fermentation process to produce algae-based end products. This role involves performing various operational functions to support production goals and maintain quality standards in a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of production experience in a chemical manufacturing plant/environment preferred.
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift.
• Ability to identify when the manufacturing process is not operating at an acceptable range and implement troubleshooting techniques.
• High degree of manual dexterity and good mechanical and technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operation of process equipment and utilities, including changing process conditions and monitoring process conditions.
• Determining psi readings and calculations.
• Checking and calculating material weights to ensure proper amounts are used.
• Monitoring and adjusting tank pressures as necessary to stay within required ranges.
• Converting weight measurements between standard (lbs.) and metric (kilograms) when measuring raw materials.
• Using a scale when prepping anti-foam to ensure correct weight.
• Additional accountability and responsibilities as provided by leadership.
