About The Position

D Shift - Mash mixing deck operator This position operates and adjusts all process equipment Mash line for smooth and productive operations; monitors lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs; and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.

Requirements

  • Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral. ( Requirement may vary by location).
  • Must be able to be qualified within time frames established by facility .
  • Ability to perform basic math functions, .
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently .
  • Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include:  loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements for job actions and procedures .
  • Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment .
  • Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties .
  • Ability to operate work related equipment
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Freezer Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Plant Operation
  • May have to sample food while evaluating Lamb Weston products
  • Climbing to various heights via stairs or ladders on a regular basis

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are .
  • Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred .

Responsibilities

  • Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork, report to the assigned line, complete walk through and prepare for operations.
  • Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear and perform a safety check on equipment to be used in daily operations and ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
  • Check schedule, work orders and bulk product inventory, take oil, blancher and finished product samples to lab as .
  • Monitor the blancher and fryer, complete walk through , take samples, make adjustments , check drains and magnets as .
  • Manually dump and / or scoop ingredients and condiments into hoppers according to recipe and pump oil from fryer as .
  • Keep the work area clear and clean, hose down area, sweep / shovel up spills, empty trash and replace liners.
  • At end of shift , secure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, perform general housekeeping and wet clean-up as .
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
