About The Position

Join our ReedHycalog team in Conroe, TX as a dynamic Engineering Technician! This exciting opportunity involves operating machines and equipment in our PDC testing and repair center, interpreting drawings, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment. You will use your troubleshooting skills to solve problems independently, collaborate with coworkers and engineers, conduct equipment runs and tests, support cutter and testing development projects, and perform cutter modifications. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Proven experience following procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to actively participate in improvement initiatives and provide feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in operating CNC machines and programming is preferred.
  • PDC cutters experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various machines and equipment in the PDC testing and repair center.
  • Show careful attention to detail when setting up machines for consistent, reliable operation.
  • Read and interpret drawings, workflow documents, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Set-up, test, and validate the proper function of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot products and tools, performing repairs if necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively and communicate with coworkers and engineers to swiftly resolve product and procedure-related problems.
  • Resolve most issues independently, referring only complex ones to higher levels.
  • Analyze and evaluate test conditions effectively.
  • Perform assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Inspect and measure parts diligently.
  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
  • Participate in equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Conduct equipment runs and tests, report results, prototype parts, and develop methods.
  • Support cutter and testing development projects.
  • Execute cutter modifications requested by manufacturing or repair centers.
  • Contribute to root cause analyses for field requests and repair center cutter inquiries.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
