Menorah Medical Center is seeking a PRN Operator to join our team. The PBX Operator is responsible for ensuring efficient communication within, to, and from the hospital in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner according to standard operating procedures. Your commitment to service, safety, and professionalism will contribute to achieving the best experience for our patients. This role involves greeting and assisting callers, providing information, executing overhead paging, understanding hospital emergency codes, monitoring alarms, and updating facility directories.

  • Cheerfully greet and assist external and internal callers on multiple incoming telephone lines.
  • Provide information/phone numbers to callers as requested or make inquiries to refer the caller to the appropriate hospital personnel or department.
  • Execute overhead paging for authorized reasons when requested by appropriate staff.
  • Understand hospital emergency codes and alarms and coordinate emergency code responses.
  • Monitor all alarms located in PBX and notify appropriate personnel as required.
  • Assist with updating the facility, phone directories, and on-call lists.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience operating a switchboard or as a receptionist with multiple line phone responsibility.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience with Word & Excel preferred.
  • Proven customer service skills in working with public and emergency situations.
