About The Position

Set-up and operate a brake press to produce parts. Maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; maintain equipment and supplies. Principal Responsibilities: Ability to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions Knowledge of bend allowances and how to achieve them. Knowledge of brake press tooling. Ability to read blueprints, thorough understanding of flat pattern layout and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part. Reads work order to determine quantity of parts to run, parts per hour, and any special instructions for the job. Consistently meets or exceeds production run rates Measures product dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and performs quality inspection of finished product per shop order. Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stops to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations. does first part inspection to confirm finished part conforms to specifications on drawing. Perform repetitive work in a timely manner Maintain a clean and organized area by cleaning/sweeping up debris and by following the 5S standard Follow and complete daily PM check lists Mental and Physical requirements: Bend and lift, loading and unloading parts into the press Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day Ability to stand for most of the work shift Be able to work onsite for the duration of shift Safe Practice Guidelines / Required Personal Protective Equipment: Safety glasses with side shields as required  Steel toed/metatarsal safety shoes as required  Gloves as required Earplugs as required Welding hood, jacket, face shield, and/or gloves as required  Fire Retardant (FR) clothing as required  N-95 mask or respirator as required Seat belts required on all forklifts Qualifications and Educational Requirements:     Excellent communication skills (oral and written) Detailed oriented Manage time with little to no supervision, self-motivated Basic math and trigonometry skills Must be able to read blueprints AS9100 Quality compliance, understanding, and commitment High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Minimum one (1) year of experience
