About The Position

This position involves operating an extrusion press and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and policies, as well as the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and order instructions. The operator will be responsible for loading and unloading billets, monitoring extrusion speed, and inspecting profiles for defects. Additionally, the operator will perform die changes and routine press maintenance with guidance from the press lead or supervisor. Accurate and timely completion of production documentation is essential, along with the identification and escalation of any mechanical or quality issues.

Requirements

• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Machine Operator, Metal Extrusion, and Machine Shop experience.

Responsibilities

• Always adhere to safety procedures and policies.
• Ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and order instructions.
• Ability to verify part quantity and perform visual inspection for defects or damage.
• Punctuality.
• The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals.
• The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills.
• Operate the extrusion press and related equipment, ensuring proper settings, dies, and billet temperatures.
• Load and unload billets, monitor extrusion speed, and inspect profiles for defects.
• Perform die changes and routine press maintenance with guidance from the press lead or supervisor.
• Complete production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Identify and escalate any mechanical or quality issues promptly.
