This position involves working in a manufacturing environment, specifically operating an extrusion press and related equipment. The role requires adherence to safety procedures and policies, as well as the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and order instructions. The operator will be responsible for verifying part quantities, performing visual inspections for defects or damage, and ensuring punctuality. Basic shop math skills, including fractions and decimals, are necessary, along with basic computer skills to navigate the intranet for process documents. The operator will load and unload billets, monitor extrusion speed, and inspect profiles for defects. Additionally, the role includes performing die changes and routine press maintenance with guidance from the press lead or supervisor, and completing production documentation accurately and in a timely manner. It is also important to identify and escalate any mechanical or quality issues promptly.
