About The Position

Operator/packers assist in installing, maintaining, and operating machinery. They must have a strong understanding of the machines they work with. In-depth training may be required in order to prepare an operator/packer for their daily duties. Operator/packers may work with mechanical or computer-operated equipment. They must be technically-inclined and be able to properly utilize tools and machinery. Since problems with machinery may arise, operator/packers must be able to analyze situations and find solutions. Candidates for this position should be detail-oriented and willing to learn. Operator/packers should be able to follow instructions, work with others, and help ensure that all safety regulations are followed. To be successful as an operator/packer you must have attention to detail and the ability to organize items. A good operator/packer is efficient and careful not to damage items.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience as a picker/packer or operator.
  • Understanding of diagrams and other work instructions.
  • High-level of visual awareness.
  • Advanced organizational skills.
  • Experience drafting reports and collating data.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery.
  • Operate tools in order to aid in the manufacturing process.
  • Perform periodic checks on equipment and solve problems as detected.
  • Work with others in order to ensure that equipment is in proper working order.
  • Inspect and ensure that items are undamaged.
  • Clean regrind containers.
  • Label items.
  • Pack items into shipping boxes.
  • Seal, label, and wrap shipping boxes.
  • Scan all finished goods.
  • Complete all daily paperwork per department requirements.
  • Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations.
