About The Position

The Operator I (Non-CDL) is responsible for the safe and effective operation of industrial service equipment in support of cleaning and maintenance projects at industrial facilities or specific client worksites that do not require a commercial driver's license. This position ensures the safe and effective handling of materials, contributing directly to the productivity and safety of the site. The operator will work closely with team members to maintain equipment, monitor operational processes, and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow detailed instructions in a dynamic work environment. Ultimately, the Operator 1 helps maintain continuous site operations while minimizing downtime and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid non-commercial driver's license required
  • Clean driving record required
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety procedures.
  • Ability to pass a physical fitness test and drug screening.
  • Must be medically fit to wear required PPE including respirators and chemical suits as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Be able to be in confined spaces and work outside in year round elements
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in industrial, mining, quarrying, or oil and gas extraction industries.
  • Certification in heavy equipment operation or safety training programs.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations related to extraction operations.
  • Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned equipment such as vacuum systems, hydroblasting units, pressure washers, roll-off containers, and non-CDL transport vehicles.
  • Conduct job setup and breakdown, including hose connections, safety equipment placement, and hazard assessments.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-use inspections of equipment; report any issues promptly.
  • Follow detailed work orders and instructions for equipment operation and chemical handling.
  • Assist with industrial cleaning, tank cleaning, confined space work, and chemical cleaning tasks.
  • Complete accurate and timely job logs, service receipts, and inspection forms.
  • Maintain worksite cleanliness and decontaminate equipment after job completion.
  • Support team members and assist technicians in performing tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Participate in job planning and communicate job status to supervisors and clients as needed.
  • Enforce and comply with all company and customer safety policies and procedures.
