About The Position

The Operator Mechanic reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for a variety of responsibilities including ensuring assigned equipment is ready for startup/changeovers. Visually inspect equipment to ensure operation according to standards making adjustments. Complete centerline inspections and may assist mechanics with minor repairs, replacements, and modifications to equipment following all safety regulations and ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met. Must have own hand tools. Starting pay up to $24.87 per hour + Attendance Bonus! ($0.50 for first shift, $0.60 for second shift, and $0.70 for third shift). You will be onsite at the Conagra manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • Ability to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for position
  • Regular attendance to ensure production requirements are met
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend written instructions in English
  • Ability to complete work/purchase requests into the maintenance tracking and performance computer system
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools
  • Basic math skills
  • Good safety record and complete all necessary trainings.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Knowledge of GMP’s
  • Ability to be LOTO certified
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year maintenance or related experience.
  • Must have own hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Verify product for startup
  • Ensure equipment is ready for startup/changeovers performing pre-start checks
  • Visually inspect equipment to ensure it is operating according to standards making adjustments
  • Complete centerline inspections to identify defects
  • Grease seals and bearings, clean, inspect, and replace belts
  • Assist mechanics with minor repairs, replacements, and modifications to equipment
  • Assist mechanics with Planned Maintenance (PM)
  • Teardown equipment for changeover/sanitation
  • Complete daily paperwork (e.g., centerline reports, scale audits, PM/AM sheets)
  • Keep work area free from debris to maintain a safe and efficient production process
  • Participate in production line drumbeats
  • General housekeeping (e.g., sweeping, wiping down guards, removal of contaminants, etc.)
