About The Position

The Industrial Services Operator is responsible for the safe operation of vacuum trucks, hydroblasting units, and related heavy equipment in support of industrial and environmental services projects. This role serves as the primary equipment operator on job sites and works closely with Technicians and Leads to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This is a safety-sensitive, field-based role requiring strong technical skill, sound judgment, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 2+ years experience operating industrial or heavy equipment
Valid CDL (Class A or B) with acceptable driving record (if required by equipment assigned)
Ability to pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing
Strong safety record and attendance history
Ability to work variable schedules, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments

Nice To Haves

HydroVac or vacuum truck operating experience
HAZWOPER (40-hour or 8-hour refresher)
Confined Space Entry / Attendant / Supervisor certification
TWIC card
Experience in refinery, plant, or heavy industrial environments

Responsibilities

Operate vacuum trucks, hydroblasting units, and related industrial equipment
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections
Safely transport equipment to and from job sites
Set up, operate, and break down equipment in accordance with job scope
Monitor equipment performance and job conditions during operations
Perform basic troubleshooting and report mechanical issues immediately
Coordinate closely with Technicians and Lead Technicians on site
Follow all safety policies, JHAs, confined space procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements
Ensure proper handling, containment, and transport of waste materials
Maintain accurate job documentation, DVIRs, and time records
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vehicles, tools, and equipment
Stop work and escalate issues when unsafe conditions are identified
