About The Position

The Operator II is expected to be able to perform the requirements of an Operator I. Additionally, the Operator II is proficient across all lines in the department and is used as a training and troubleshooting resource for the department. This job function directly ☒ indirectly ☐  affects product quality

Requirements

  • Must be proficient with using small hand tools
  • Work independently as well as coordinate and communicate with other team members and departments
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and weight conversions
  • Able to cross train in other areas as assigned
  • Dependability and ability to adapt to change are essential
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Must be capable of basic computer interactions and data entry
  • High School Diploma/GED OR equivalent work experience at the discretion of the Hiring Manager
  • Must be able to sit/stand for at least 4 hours at a time
  • Have normal eye/hand motor coordination and the ability to grasp and hold small objects
  • Possess a normal extended reach
  • Consistently uses manual dexterity
  • Have the ability to determine color acuity
  • Must be able to transport, lift, and demonstrate materials, product and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Limited temperature fluctuations, air conditioned environment
  • Exposure to general manufacturing environment
  • Non-allergy to Latex

Responsibilities

  • Understands production and quality metrics and performs accordingly to meet them
  • Follow work instructions, material preparation procedures, visual aid, and inspection procedures as applicable
  • Read work orders and follow Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Follow established company policies
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Fill out proper documentation (i.e. traveler, production ticket, daily production report, process verification sheet, etc.)
  • Follow quality controls inspection points
  • Perform measurement verification with all relevant Quality equipment
  • Participate in problem solving activities
  • Participate in daily continual improvement activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station
  • Communicate with Supervisor and other team members
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Cross train on PW-III, PW-II, and PW-I job duties in the PHX department
  • Perform Marking machine operations and control
  • Follow start up and shutdown procedure
  • Perform basic maintenance as required and fill out applicable 5S, TPM, PM and cleaning check sheets
  • Set up and calibrate equipment as required
  • Perform set-up inspection and continuous inspection as required
  • Perform product change over, cleaning and adjustments
  • Perform trouble shooting, line clearance, and routine cleaning
  • Maintenance – fill out PM and cleaning checks sheets.
  • Perform 1st piece inspection and continuous inspection.
  • Perform Extrusion dies change over, cleaning and adjustment.
  • Perform Extrusion trouble shooting, purging and cleaning.
  • Setup and calibrate adapter less tip size base on required specification program in Zumbach.
  • Material drying and mixing procedures.
  • Quality inspection and scrap reporting.
  • Perform measurement verification with caliper, comparator, scale and pin gauges.
  • Support Unit Lead in execution of cycle counting program.
  • Support Unit Lead in schedule compliance in department.
