The Production Operator at Thatcher Company, located in Henderson, NV, plays a vital role in the production and shipment of aluminum sulfate. The operator will be involved in various production processes and adhere to strict safety and procedural guidelines while working within the Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) Department.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat in summer, cold in winter).
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Standing for extended periods and walking throughout the workday.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Preferred warehouse experience.
  • Familiarity with rail car unloading and forklift operation.
  • Knowledge of DOT rules and non-PSM procedures.
  • Understanding of air permit and fugitive emissions.
  • Proficiency in using systems such as M3

Responsibilities

  • Handle unloading rail cars and charging production batches.
  • Monitor and filter completed production batches.
  • Load bulk trailers for distribution.
  • Complete all necessary production documentation.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and safety.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and customer focus.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely as needed.
  • Perform routine safety checks and comply with environmental regulations.
  • Ensure the maintenance and smooth functioning of alum production wet scrubber.
  • Understand and adhere to air permit regulations related to fugitive emissions.
  • Adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations when handling corrosive chemicals.
