Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science with 2+ years Industry experience (Hazardous Waste or Chemical industry)
  • OR Associates degree with 5+ years Industry experience (Hazardous Waste or Chemical industry)
  • OR High school diploma or GED with 10+ years Industry experience in Hazardous Waste or Chemical industry

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations as applied to hazardous waste transportation
  • Knowledge of RCRA
  • Safety and health experience in waste industry
  • Experience in MS Office suite
  • Certified CHMM
  • Ability to make sound decisions after considering all facts, potential risks, customer needs, and alternative solutions when dealing with all types of issues

Responsibilities

  • Effectively managing warehouse staff in daily tasks
  • Responsible for managing a hazardous waste operation with 5 processing departments TSDF
  • Selects, trains, and develops an effective hazardous waste staff for facility
  • Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance appraisals
  • Recommends salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and dismissals
  • Monitors operations and staff and recommends changes in methods, procedures, structure, and personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources
  • Administers all Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff, interprets, and ensures compliance and safety
  • Monitors and ensures that employees are performing their functions safely and productively
  • Monitors department work productivity, reports on trends, recommends, and implements changes to continually improve work productivity
  • Ensures that entire plant is within regulatory compliance, including transfer stations, trucking domiciles, office and support facilities within the plant operation
  • Ensures continual improvement of productivity standards and worker safety performance in all phases of the operation
  • Pro-actively interfaces with area peers to achieve business goals
  • Initiates actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices
  • Trains production and maintenance employees, when necessary
  • Ensures adequate level of supplies and equipment and purchases supplies and equipment when needed
  • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
