About The Position

The Machine Operator I under the supervision of the Production Supervisor may perform any of the jobs listed below. This position involves compliance with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures, regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility. The essential functions include treating process water, inspecting tile, operating a strapping machine, performing quality checks, and cleaning equipment and areas daily. The role may also include other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions
• 6 months to 1 year of color or tile manufacturing experience required
• 6 months Forklift driving experience desired

Responsibilities

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
• Treat process water by adding flocculent to disperse solids
• Check PH before discharging to city and log all discharge with supervisor's approval
• Inspect the tile on the dry side and manage the sealer area including cleaning the sealer booth
• Run strapping machine to secure pallets of tile
• Perform quality checks of the tile and packaging of the tile
• Clean equipment and areas daily
• Notify supervisor or Lead person of any identified problems
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
