About The Position
The Medina County Commissioners are seeking a full-time Operator for the Solid Waste District located on Lake Road in Medina. This position involves operating the TRUX scale house program to gather data related to customers, vehicles, and materials entering and leaving the facility. The Operator will inspect, accept, or reject incoming refuse/materials at the Solid Waste facilities scale house and perform cash transactions associated with inbound and outbound customers. Additionally, the Operator will balance the cash drawer at the beginning and completion of each shift, provide information to haulers and the general public in person or by telephone, and operate various types of equipment used in Solid Waste operations. Training will be provided to properly categorize and package household hazardous and specialty waste materials. The role also includes general labor and maintenance functions as needed, with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service by presenting a professional and pleasant demeanor and appearance. Flexibility to work duties in the scale house, specialty waste/household hazardous waste building, and outside is required.
