Requirements

• High School/GED degree is required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience involving excavations and operating backhoes and excavators is desired.
• Demonstrated abilities for employment in a construction environment.
• Advanced knowledge and use of construction tools and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools.
• Effective interpersonal skills and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe, trencher, cranes, and jackhammers for pipeline installation and maintenance.
• Make taps and fuse plastic pipe as part of the installation process.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and ensure it is operational.
• Execute 'squeeze-off' procedures for steel and plastic pipes.
• Set up for jobs by ensuring all necessary tools and equipment are available.
• Install leak clamps and layout pipeline lines as required.
• Cut, thread, and re-wrap pipes for proper installation.
• Perform site excavation and assist in related activities such as traffic control and locating pipelines.
• Assist with purges and retire services as needed.
• Change stop-cocks and perform other assigned duties.
