About The Position

Americhem is actively hiring Dispersion Operators to join our team at our Concord, NC plant. Americhem is one of the world's largest manufacturers of custom color concentrates. Our production operators specialize in setting up, operating, and tending extruding machines to process a variety of products that our customers use to manufacture a vast array of finished products.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of materials, methods, equipment, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Fundamental knowledge of production processes and techniques for effective manufacture of products.
  • Fundamental knowledge of compound formulation and ability to evaluate color (Hue, Chroma, and Shade).
  • Fundamental knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service.
  • Fundamental knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures that promote safety for personnel and property.
  • Fundamental knowledge of quality controls and continuous improvement applications.
  • Knowledge and application of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
  • Computer literate to include knowledge and application of information and data management systems, electronic equipment, and computer software (i.e. Microsoft Suite, Oracle).
  • Valid driver's license with reliable automobile transportation.
  • Tow Motor Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively operates and understands all required compounding equipment that includes scales, feeders, and mixing blenders with some guidance from senior-level coworkers and team leaders.
  • Accurately weighs ingredients through use of scales and gathers other equipment and ingredients as needed to make specific batch with some guidance from senior-level coworkers and team leaders.
  • Follows and clarifies compounding formulation with the proper identified ingredients with some guidance from senior-level coworkers and team leaders.
  • Cleans equipment for change-over compounding process and new batches with some guidance from senior-level coworkers and team leaders.
  • Verifies proper product identification on in process containers with some guidance from senior-level coworkers and team leaders.
