CEMEX, a global building materials company founded in 1906, is seeking a qualified individual to operate all milling and kiln systems under the supervision of the Production Supervisor. The successful candidate will demonstrate competence in operating both kilns and will be responsible for assisting in any necessary repairs within the Cement Plant, particularly in the refractory and kiln systems. This role requires the ability to read and interpret instrument loop diagrams, sketches, and manufacturer's specifications, as well as to conduct simple chemical and physical control tests. Clear written reports on all phases of operations will also be required. The position involves starting up and shutting down the plant, making minor repairs and adjustments to electrical equipment, and understanding the operation of console equipment including CRTs, communication equipment, recorders, printers, keyboards, and other control instruments used in the Cement Plant. Familiarity with the principles of electrical and pneumatic instrumentation is essential for making necessary adjustments and minor repairs. A thorough knowledge of mechanics is also required to quickly diagnose problems and take appropriate action, including emergency repairs. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, and the employee must comply with company safety rules and regulations, wearing the proper safety equipment while on plant grounds. This includes clothing and apparatus such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, back support belts, gloves, and respirators. The working conditions may involve occasional exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor environments, necessitating the use of protective equipment. The physical requirements of the job include walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing, with the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
