About The Position

As a Production Associate, you will safely operate and monitor packaging equipment for fiberglass insulation. You’ll start machines, spot and report malfunctions, make minor adjustments, feed/count/position product, and replenish/mount supplies to keep lines running. You’ll inspect packaged product to spec, escalate issues to the Cold End Coordinator and Shift Manager, and maintain a clean, orderly workspace. Success requires strict safety focus, attention to detail, and a drive for productivity and quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year or more of related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and industrial experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, individuals must demonstrate the following:
  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
  • Proficient in English (reading and writing).

Responsibilities

  • Observe and demonstrate Knauf’s safety principles at all times.
  • Start the machine and observe its operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Stop the machine and report any malfunctions to a Supervisor.
  • Make minor adjustments or repairs, such as rethreading the banding, and clear away damaged products.
  • Inspect fiberglass insulation to ensure that the product is packaged according to specifications.
  • Advise the Cold End Coordinator and Shift Manager of any problems.
  • Feed product into various packaging equipment while maintaining maximum productivity and quality.
  • Replenish packaging supplies such as overwrap paper, bags, film, glue, ink, or labels while maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly workspace.
  • Mount supplies on spindles; place supplies in the hopper or another feeding device.
  • Count and position fiberglass in machines and start the cycle.
