About The Position

The Operator Associate I position is responsible for performing various job duties at the Hotpress, Floatline, and Wrapper to produce molded fiber egg cartons according to customer specifications. The role requires maintaining excellent safety and housekeeping standards while verifying quality at each assigned workstation. The position operates on a rotating 12-hour shift, alternating between day and night shifts every eight weeks. The compensation includes a competitive hourly pay range and eligibility for bonuses based on plant productivity.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work safely and communicate professionally with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine product quality, including carton malformations and structural integrity.
  • Demonstrated hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient for product handling.
  • Ability to work well on a team.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all documented safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Ensures continuous operation of the mechanical hot press to achieve production goals.
  • Restores flow in the event that the hot press stops or encounters issues.
  • Troubleshoots and communicates mechanical issues to the Hot Press Mechanic and management.
  • Identifies and removes defective cartons by observing the decline conveyor leading to the Hot Press and the outfeed.
  • Responds to and addresses alarms concerning carton jams.
  • Assists in hand feeding cartons into the line to increase productivity and decrease scrap.
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping standards to ensure a safe work area.
  • Assists with carton pick up at the outfeed when necessary.
  • Cleans the oven area during line start-up and downtime.
  • Addresses and reports safety issues or hazards immediately.
  • Maintains excellent attendance and safety records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
