About The Position

The ABS Builder Technician will be responsible for setting up and operating routers, jig saws, and drills to cut, drill, and trim excess plastic from molded parts, as well as some assembly, according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to operate job specific tools and equipment skillfully and safely.
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Regularly use verbal communication skills
  • Possess mechanical skills
  • General power tool usage and knowledge.
  • Perform work on concrete floors for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to lift and move (push, pull, carry) items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to raise arms above shoulders regularly and freely rotate arms/shoulders to lift/move parts.
  • Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat when needed.
  • Work will include repetitive hand, arm, wrist, and leg motion.
  • Will need hand and finger flexibility and dexterity and excellent eyesight with or without corrective lenses

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a light manufacturing or ABS Plastics manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Forklift experience a plus.
  • Machining skills also appreciated.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, check, and operate manual router, jig saw, and battery powered drill.
  • Cut, trim, and drill molded ABS plastic tubs, to match engineering drawings.
  • Inspect and assess each part of the tub, performing quality checks.
  • Assemble drain parts to tub, as specified.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Perform material handling functions, including delivering parts to the next work center.
  • Assist, as needed, in other work centers.
