Responsabilities for the operator 5 role include but are not limited to: Safety is the most important aspect of all jobs within Nucor. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Safely operate and set up multiple pieces of equipment throughout the roll‑forming lines and effectively fill in at various positions as needed. Read and interpret shop drawings. Understand and execute departmental policies related to production, inventory, quality, and training. Accurately measure materials and equipment using tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and squares. Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as required. Perform tasks as directed by the line supervisor and/or group leader. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivelant.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with, or cross‑training in, NBG roll‑forming operations and equipment.
  • Certified crane and forklift operator.
