About The Position

The Operator 2nd Shift is responsible for all activities associated with running the folder gluer including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. This position requires efficient make-ready cartons assigned, accurate and efficient setup of all folding and gluing operations of the machine in accordance with proper setup techniques, and minimizing waste of sheet stock and glue. The operator will monitor adhesive application for proper placement, adhesion, and quantity, and maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed. Adherence to the production schedule is crucial, and the operator is expected to make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Additionally, the operator will turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs and be proactive in the maintenance of equipment. Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping, is mandatory. Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of layouts, production specifications, and product quality specifications.
  • Excellent team building and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.
