About The Position

The ASR Group® family of companies make up the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar. OVERVIEW: The Operator is responsible for learning all aspects of the production operation such as loading/unloading bulk sugar, melt processing, and packaging by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing or similar industry required
  • Prior experience troubleshooting equipment strongly preferred
  • Prior experience operating a forklift preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written English communication skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for equipment start up and observation of possible malfunctions
  • Reports malfunctions to supervisor and makes minor adjustments or repairs (i.e. opening valves)
  • Execute bulk load/unloading and packaging processes according to process/procedure
  • Performs quality control in accordance to standardized process/procedure completes all necessary paperwork according to process/procedure
  • Replenishes packaging supplies as necessary
  • Open to cross-functional training in all areas of operation
  • Participates in customer/federal audits as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned
